Millimetric vs.

PostHog

The events, without the kitchen-sink platform.

In one paragraph

PostHog grew into a full platform — feature flags, session replay, surveys, A/B tests, LLM observability. It's an impressive amount of product. Millimetric stays narrow: one HTTP endpoint, one MCP server, no second-screen dashboards. If you only need analytics, you pay only for analytics.

Pick PostHog when…

  • You want feature flags, session replay, and analytics in one bill.
  • You want autocapture so you don't have to instrument by hand.
  • Your team prefers a single 'platform' vendor.

Pick Millimetric when…

  • You already have a flag tool, a replay tool, and a CDP — and you just want events.
  • You want the cleanest possible browser SDK (1.8 KB vs ~50 KB).
  • You want an MCP server, not a Notebook UI.

Our verdict

PostHog if you genuinely want a platform — analytics is one of five tools you'd otherwise buy. Millimetric if 'analytics' is the only thing on the shopping list.

FAQ

Do you do session replay?
No, and we won't. Session replay is privacy-fraught and bandwidth-heavy. We stay narrow.
Do you do feature flags?
No. Pick a focused flag tool (GrowthBook, ConfigCat, OpenFeature). One excellent tool per job.
